Arenal Volcano
With plenty to offer, it is no wonder that Costa Rica along with being one of the hottest tourist destinations in the world is also fast becoming an expat haven. Filled with stunning natural beauty, blessed with fantastic all year round weather, and having long standing political stability, this tiny country is now among the top places in the world where people are rushing to buy property. In the recent years Costa Rica’s real estate demand has risen to new heights, with more and more people choosing to either live or retire in this beautiful Central American nation.

Spectacular fiery volcanoes, gorgeous pristine beaches, lush verdant hills and friendly people, all combine to give Costa Rica its unique appeal. Offering more beauty and adventure per acre than any other place in the world, this country has some of the most diverse and exotic landscapes known to mankind. Staying here is a real joy as one gets to experience nature at its finest.

In Costa Rica you have a wide variety of choice, as to where you would like to stay. Live on a beautiful beachfront property or stay in the cosmopolitan city of San Jose. For those looking for some much needed peace and quiet, a home in any of the towns in the Central Valley is ideal, while if you prefer the seclusion then the Osa Peninsula is a great place to find a home. Whatever your reason for buying a property in Costa Rica make sure that you are well informed, and do the proper research before buying any real estate.

An ideal place to live is in San Jose, the capital. Located in the lush Central Valley and surrounded by rolling green hills and volcanoes, this city is the largest in Costa Rica. Home to over a million inhabitants, San Jose has been declared as having one of the three best climates in the world according to the National Geographic magazine. A bright and vibrant place, living here provides one with accessibility to any part of the country as both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts of Costa Rica are less than 6 hours away. Therefore it’s highly recommended to use San Jose as a starting point or a home base while you explore Costa Rica and search for a permanent residence.

An unusual blend of modern and colonial architecture, San Jose is charmingly quaint for a modern city. Considered to be the most cosmopolitan city in Central America, San Jose still retains much of its small town feeling mainly due to the city’s layout and the pueblitos that make up the outskirts of the city. A happening place both in terms of culture and business, San Jose has plenty of good shopping, a varied nightlife, a wide range of hotels and restaurants serving international cuisines, lovely parks, art galleries, theatres, museums and much more.
