Pavones Beach
The ideal province for those who want to have some fun in the sun, Guanacaste is the place to head for. Guancaste's beaches here are among the best in the world with a whole host of activities to enjoy. And if you ever get tired of the beaches, there are a number of national parks and nature reserves in the province as well, where you can go wildlife watching, trekking, exploring caves and even canopy touring.

In Guanacaste, restaurants are aplenty and can be found everywhere, even to the north of the province near the Santa Rosa National Park, the Guanacaste National Park and Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Many of the restaurants in this area are part of a hotel, lodge or inn. There are also plenty of local sodas out here, where you can grab a quick bite to eat. Gallo or tortilla sandwiches are very popular out here and throughout the province of Guanacaste.

In Liberia, the provincial capital of Guancaste, you will find a number of good restaurants, as well as in most big towns along the coast. On the beaches itself you will find plenty of sodas, bars, cafés and food stalls that all sell excellent quality food at cheap and affordable prices. Ready within a few minutes, the food at these sodas have a unique Tico influence that makes even the most common foods seem tasty and different.

Fresh seafood and fish is also very popular in Guanacaste with most restaurants having a seafood menu. Places like Tamarindo, the Golfo de Papagayo, Playa del Coco, Playa Nosara and Playa Samara all have restaurants in and around the beach area. A lot of restaurants in Guanacaste, especially in the smaller beach towns, are part of a hotel or resort. Serving a variety of cuisines to tantalize any taste buds, the food in this part of the country is extremely delicious.
