Built in the 1930s, Casa 69 Bed & Breakfast is the perfect spot for those who love traditional Costa Rican architecture and decor. Head into the walled property where you'll find a large common area that includes a gorgeous courtyard and beautiful rooftop sundeck. Inside, you'll find a living room and dining room where guests can relax and mingle as they sip on an afternoon coffee.

Each spacious area is individually decorated in the bright colors and gorgeous art that makes Costa Rica the unique country it is. Gorgeous chandeliers adorn nearly every room, and outside, you'll find a wide variety of tropical flora and fauna meant to attract the area's birds and other wildlife. Their sounds make for the perfect background music as you nap, read a book or simply gaze out at the city and mountains below.

Before starting your adventures each morning, be sure to stop by the garden patio where you can enjoy a complimentary tropical breakfast. Sip on exotic fruit juices or delicious Costa Rican coffee as you sample local tropical fruit and fresh-baked French bread with preserves. When it comes to lunch and dinner options, there is a range of restaurants available in nearby San José, whether you prefer something casual for to go all out for a fine dining affair.

A range of other amenities are available as well. Stop by the 24-hour front desk to ask about airport shuttles, daily housekeeping, luggage storage or laundry service. A safe at the front desk provides extra protection for your belongings, and a computer station with wireless internet allows you to connect to people back home. "Casa 69 was the first place we stayed in Costa Rica, and when you have a just stepped off a 14 hour flight you need somewhere you can just relax, and this certainly gives you that. The rooms are big and clean, and very nicely furnished, further they are quite (unless it is raining, but you can't really control that). It is walking distance from downtown san jose, and it is incredibly easy to get around. We spent just one night there but it was exactly what we needed and was well worth the money! We would stay again."

"Casa 69 was just what I'd been looking for after trying many places on many trips to San Jose. As a frequent visitor to Costa Rica, one ends up in San Jose often for a day or two or three. Well, this place might make me want to spend more time in SJ! The location is very convenient, the neighborhood is safe and convenient and the hotel itself is really charming and great. The rooms are really nicely appointed, the staff is friendly and everything in the mini-bar is only a buck! And can I just say those were the best hotel towels I've ever had, let alone in this modest price range! I'll be a regular."
