Hotel Punta India is a wonderful lodge that consists of 6 independent villas beautifully decorated and of original architecture. The Ranch, where the Reception, the Restaurant, Bar and Swimming pool are located, is a spectacular construction of pillars of Teak and teed grass roof, (zacate), made by natives of the area in the traditional way.
All this is integrated in paradise surroundings of Tropical Forest, only a few meters away of solitary and wild beaches. One of nearest is Playa Ostional, famous for being place of "Arrivadas" of the Loras turtles as it is their natural place of egg-laying, as well as the birth of the little turtles. Hotel Punta India offers 6 independent villas. We have tried to take care of every detail. Each villa has two floors, 2 bedrooms, a spacious and semi-open bathroom, a private terrace, air conditioning, fan, and a fully-equiped kitchen.

Activities at or near Hotel Punta India
Turtle watching
Punta india is situated just one km. ahead from Playa Ostional, Four types of turtles nest in this area: Lora, verde (green), Carey and Baula. You can watch this amazing spectacle at night being guided by a professional working for the MINAE (Costarican enviromantal organism). Thousands of turtles nest at this beach, so many that, sometimes, they do it one upon the previous one, destroying many nests. Nevertheless, the eggs are given to population (under MINAE control), and are sent all over the country in order to be sold and provide finances to this village (Ostional). For them; this is their main income.
Best season or biggest "arribadas" are from July to December. Fortunately, the biological research done at this area show that there's no risk of extinction, and on the opposite, Ostional, is making endangered turtles like the Carey, increase their number.
Bird and Monkey Watching
The areas around Punta India offers you thebest conditions to observe exotic birds and Howler monkeys. You may trek and walk inside forests; also towards the Rosario River and heading to the sea.
Beach and Surf
One of the most famous surfing spots in Costa Rica, Playa Guiones and Nosara, is 25 min. by car. Ostional, except lumen turtles are nesting (forbidden) is also one of the top spots. Solitary beaches like San Juanillo offers white and dark sand and tropical bays protected by a coastal reef.
