Hemingway Inn - San Jose |
An authentic Spanish mansion, the Hemingway Inn is one of the most photographed buildings in all of San Jose. Though the city has grown around it, Hemingway Inn was originally built as a large hacienda for the family of a wealthy coffee plantation owner in the 1920´s. Still retaining its former charm, only ten years ago Hemingway Inn was completely renovated and remodelled to become an adorable bed and breakfast.
Though none of the seventeen guest rooms at Hemingway Inn are the same, they all have comfortable beds, cable television with over 60 channels in Spanish and English, a telephone with free calls within Costa Rica, free Internet access (and wireless for your laptop), a clock-radio, an insured in-room safe (extra), and a private tiled bath with hot water shower. All rooms are equipped with ceiling fans to circulate the air, but heating and air-conditioning are never needed in San José. Rated as one of the world´s great climates, we are a kilometer above both the Pacific and Caribbean and enjoy a constant 72-75 degrees year -round. Our rooms at Hemingway Inn come in three price ranges depending upon size and location.
We offer a complimentary tropical buffet breakfast on the garden patio each morning from 6 to 10 am. You will enjoy eye-opening exotic fruit juice, home-made tamales, French bread and local preserves, unusual fruits, Costa Rican cheese, hard boiled eggs, and freshly perked Central Mesita coffee.
