I had never been on a Segway before my trip to Jaco Beach. The tour guide made me feel like I was not going to hurt myself and gave me the knowledge I needed to stay upright. The tour was a great way to take in the beach and town. If I go back to Jaco Beach, I will definitely be visiting this place again!

We wished we would have done the Segway earlier in our week at Jaco Beach to know more about the city. Miguel, our guide, is a local and was very entertaining and knowledgable about the town and town legends. He is very passionate about the Segway and even joked that he would like to be married on one.
The $80US pp/2-hour tour was to include some city as well as beach riding, but it almost didn't get started as he claimed the credit card machine wasn't working and could we Segway over to an ATM to get cash? We took it in stride as we can appreciate technology goes wonky every once in a while, and hopefully, they were able to get it up and running again. Otherwise, this will kill business as not everyone will want to take up time finding an ATM to get more cash.
A nice feature that we have not had on our previous Segway tours in other cities was that we each received a radio with our helmets so that the guide did not have to shout out trip highlights or emergency information. He simply talked into his radio and we received the info through our radio/earphone.
We especially enjoyed riding along the vast stretches of Jaco Beach - these Segways were outfitted with large tires to handle the sandy terrain and they were fine on the road as well.
All in all, a very fun activity and a great way to find some bars/restaurants/shops/areas that are not mentioned in the tour books.
