Hotel Bougainvillea offers 80 rooms. Balconies opening from rooms display a marvelous view of the mountains on one side and the 12 acres of beautiful tropical gardens on the other. Each of the eighty rooms has two full size beds, a comfortable sitting area, cable T.V. and more. Amenities include, two outdoor lighted tennis courts, heated pool, sauna, and continental cruisine restaurant.

Stayed here at the beginning of our visit, and again on the last night of the trip. Very friendly staff. This hotel is located in a suburb of San Jose, so you must take a taxi in or out. It is not far from the airport. There is nothing I could see of interest within walking distance. The gardens are pretty, and there is swimming and tennis. The restaurant is satisfactory.

Hotel Bougainvillea is Santo Domingo de Heredia only 15 minutes from San José.
