Lookout Inn Lodge

The Lookout Inn Lodge is located in Costa Rica on the "Osa Peninsula" at the extreme end of the road in Carate on the edge of COrcovado National Park. We are ideally situated to offer comfortable eco-friendly accommodations to the traveler visiting this remote part of Costa Rica.

This is the Primary Entry Point to "Corcovado National Park" which is considered one of the world's great wildlife reserves. A guided tour into the park is an unforgettable experience.

Venture away from the comfort of the Lookout Inn Lodge each morning and enjoy the Largest Protected Tract of Pacific Coast Rainforest remaining in the Western Hemisphere, and yet return to a comfortable room at the end of a long day of exploring. And best of all, The Lookout Inn is very affordable.

The wildlife here is absolutely extraordinary, the plant life more diverse than you will find anywhere in the world, and the butterflies, other insects and birds will just blow you away. Visit the waterfalls and climb the Stairway to Heaven.

The Lookout Inn Lodge is nestled in the hillside along the coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Corcovado National Park.

The Lookout Inn Lodge Grounds

The grounds of the Lookout Inn are surrounded by beautifully manicured flowering hibiscus which create trails from the roaring Pacific Ocean to the cool fresh water swimming pool and wooden staircase that takes you up to the most spectacular ocean views you'll see in the area. While enjoying a cool drink and a dip in the pool you can feast your eyes on the creative landscaping that includes a variety of flowers, fruit trees, amazing bird life and more.

The structure is a combination of American Southwest and Tropical, with stucco walls featuring arched doorways and windows complete with tropical hardwood trimmings and accents. Sandalwood plays an important part in the aesthetics. You don't ever have to rough it here if you don't want to. A solar power system supplies plenty of power for lights, fans and 110 volt outlets. Accommodations at Lookout Inn Lodge

Swing-Inn Cabina at The Spa

The Swing-Inn Cabina at The Spa is a beautifully designed open air cabin with a huge private patio which includes 3 hammocks, a comfy couch, chairs and a small cool pool, all surrounded by tropical plants and orchids. This open air private tree house has your very own bath house with hot water and great views of the Pacific Ocean. Add lights, fans and a rope suspended hanging bed, for those swingers, and you have the ultimate rainforest lodging all to yourself.

The Lookout Rooms - Orquidea - Delfin - Iguana

These guest rooms each have their own spacious bathroom, hot water shower, and fan. The tile floors and baths add a luxurious touch. The custom made doors are uniquely carved by a local craftsman and a creative artist has done some lovely mural work on the insides of the rooms. The furniture, which includes armoires, tables, chairs, and queen sized beds are a mix of bamboo, wicker, and indigenous woods. The rooms are kept cool and quiet by the concrete construction, 10 foot high ceilings, and lack of direct sunlight.

The Lookout Private Cabins

The private guest cabins (cabinas) each have a bathroom with hot water, private balconies and hammocks. There are paths to the beach, pool & house. Use of wood throughout the cabinas give a sense of warmth yet the open air style lodging allows the cooling effect of the ocean breezes to waft though. The furniture, which includes armoires, tables, chairs, and queen sized beds are a mix of bamboo, wicker, and indigenous woods.

The Monkey House Rental

For our more adventurous guests who wish to experience the jungle to the fullest we offer the pride of the Inn, the secluded Monkey House. Idyllically located away from all the other rooms, the Monkey House is perched on the Inn's mountainside. Located in the rainforests canopy this cabana presents a unique, picturesque view of our endless beaches by day and the sounds and rumblings of the jungle by night. This open cabin provides; a queen bed and a loft with 2 singles, private shower and a sitting room to hangout and enjoy the world as it flies, walks or swings by. Adjacent to cabin there is a private, spaciously covered deck with lounge chairs and hammocks for relaxing.

The name was chosen because it is located under a popular "catwalk" for many of the troops of monkeys that make the jungle their home. As some of these species keep different hours than us, more than likely, you'll be woken in the morning to their passing overhead. Keep the camera at the ready, you won't want to miss these shots. Suffice is to say that this cabana offers you a once in a lifetime experience; a view that you will never be able to fully describe and an experience that you will never be able to (or want to) forget. .

Due to our open handrails this will be an adult only accommodation.

The Lookout Tiki Huts

These open air A-Frame Tiki Huts are 10 feet off the ground, giving you a tree house feeling, on a living hillside. Each hut has a queen bed, table and chairs, fan, lights and netting surrounding your bed. Staying with our eco-friendly philosophy, solar will power the fan & lights. You are surrounded by a colorful garden mixed with orchids, flowers, banana and fruit trees, jungle growth, giant Joba trees full of Iguanas and scarlet macaws. Enjoy the walk from the bottom deck onto the boardwalk winding around trees and garden area, down a few steps to your private entrance. This walkway rolls through the hilly garden to the horse corral, to the beach and also passes a hammock and chair platform high above, a perfect place for yoga or just waiting for that Kodak moment. The two Tiki huts are separate cabins completely out of view from the other with a central bathhouse in the middle.
