An amazing adventure. We were so happy with the services ADR provided us. They were a great group of people and we enjoyed every minute of our trip. They fed us breakfast and an AMAZING lunch. Their gear and safety was all in check. We would use their services again in a heartbeat. Check out Ramirez and his crew, they will take good care of you.

I would give this company a 10!!! The company itself is very well managed. Our guides were outstanding!! We are "matured" travelers and we had the time of our life!! Our guide was AWESOME while on the raft, he kept the 2 "Grandma's" in the raft. The scenery will take your breath away. This is on my list to do every time I go. I would chose this company before any other. I tip my hat to all employees who work for this company. We had a wide range of people on this trip and there was a fun time by all. Thank you. Pura Vida!!

Que viaje!!! Hemos viajado con Amigos del Rio durante 5 años consecutivos. Como siempre un excelente servicio en el cual los guias nos han mostrado cantidad de plantas y animales, la comida excelente y el tour de rafting fenomenal. Nuestro guia Anthony fue muy cuidadoso y siempre tuvo en cuenta a nuestros niños.
De verdad recomiendo altamente este tour.

The experience on the river was excellent. The guides know what they are doing. However, the food was terrible and not enough. "Gourmet meals" on the riverside?? The huge mobile thing ran out of gas so we were late and missed brekfast. Like I said the actual rafting was excellent, but the rest definitely needs more polish. Also, the photograph part is a rip-off. There were ten in our group and we had to pay $10 each for two copies of our cd. ($100!!!)What a rip!!

I had a great time with Amigos del Rio. There were 15 of us in 3 rafts and we all had a great experience. We were served a nice breakfast of eggs and bean and rice-- traditional Costa Rican breakfast. The guides were very friendly and honestly loved their jobs. They thanked us for allowing them to have their jobs seeing this beauty of the river every day. I would raft with them again. I felt safe and was educated on wildlife along the way, besides the fun of being soaked and going through Class 2-3 rapids.

I just returned from using Amigos del Rio tour company, and I can honestly say to steer clear.
We were staying in San Jose, and the company sent a car to pick us up. After 4 hours on winding majorly potholed roads, they stopped for lunch. We were given the typical beans and rice, and then a smaller than usual portion of chicken/steak/fish, not enough to fill anyone up. Then back on the potholed road for another hour to a transfer point where we waited an additional hour for the previous group to get out of the water and for the guides to set us up.
The rafting part was fine, the guides were professional and curteous. Having been rafting multiple times before, I can say that they knew what they were doing, and the river was an easy 2 to 3 class.
On the way back to San Jose, we stopped for 10 minutes to change into dry clothes, and they company collected an additional $10 from EVERYONE for photos, whether they want them or not. After they finally let us leave once everynoe had paid, the driver drove like a bat out of hell in the pouring rain (EXTREMELY UNSAFE) in order to get back to the San Jose area so that he could go to a fiesta (several of our group speak fluent spanish and understood the conversation between he and his friends). He ¨took a shortcut¨ which was just as long as the normal way to San Jose except through back raods, and when we requested that he go to a drive through since none of us had eaten for literally 9 hours, he refused saying that it was out of the way. It would have been ON the way but we took his shortcut, and even with his shortcut, it would have been MAYBE 10 minutes more. By the time we got back, no restaurant was open, and we had to miss dinner. A few of our group members were also staying at another hotel, and when we asked the driver and his friends to drop them off (where they were picked up!) he seemed put out.
All in all, if you could magically be dropped off & picked up where the boats enter the water, I would say this company MIGHT be worth it, otherwise STEER CLEAR!

Great group of guides made an exceptional day for entire family on the Savegre River. Low water level and spotty rain storms did not diminish fun and excitement. Kids ranged from 10 to 15 years old and all had good time. Would like to contact the photographer on our April 13th trip. Thank you!

he pedido uno para saber cuanto tiempo en rafting y cuantos kilometros. han dicho 22, han escrito dies...y hemos hecho menos que 5.
la comida tipica siempre es mala pero alli fue fatal todo el mundo la dejo.
el tour es caro. soy periodista y lo voy a denunciar en los medias.
volvere al rafting pero no con los amigos del rio.
