Calypso Tours SA

'Calypso Catamaran Cruise' also known as the Pacific Island Cruise or the Calypso Island Cruise is a one-day boat tour full of adventure that leaves daily from Puntarenas, Costa Rica's major Pacific Port. Once on board the 71-foot Catamaran Manta Raya, you will cruise past some of the 23 islands in the calm waters of the Gulf of Nicoya, where you can see porpoise, dolphins, sea turtles and aquatic birds.

Calypso Tours offers two tour destinations daily: either the private reserve of Punta Coral, nestled in some of the world's last remaining Tropical Dry Forest and home for many species of wildlife including yellow napped parrots, and howler monkeys; or Costa Rica's famous palm studded, white sand beach Isla Tortuga (Tortuga Island).

Once at your destination, enjoy the activities that include: sunbathing, volleyball, kayaks, bird watching or relax in a hammock. A wonderful gourmet meal is elegantly served accompanied with chilled white wine and live music.

Like a long running Broadway Show, Calypso Cruises attention to detail and dedication to giving you the best day of your Costa Rica vacation, is also the oldest and best-known one-day tour in Costa Rica.

Calypso Cruises Island Tours Features Two Tours:

Tortuga Island Cruise
Whether you're 2 or 92, no visit to Costa Rica is complete without a trip on Calypso's world famous Tortuga Island Cruise. The day begins at your hotel where you will be greeted by a bilingual guide and seated on an air-conditioned bus. The bus ride takes you to the pacific port of Puntarenas stopping along the way for Costa Rican typical breakfast and then on board the Catamaran "Manta Ray".

The Catamaran "Manta Raya" features two pool decks, fresh water showers, and a full bar featuring delicious Piña Coladas made with fresh pineapple. Once underway, the Manta Raya makes her way to the Gulf of Nicoya past various islands to Tortuga Island.

Particularly enchanting for it's beauty, Tortuga Island is known for its immaculate white sand beach and turquoise waters, a perfect stop for swimming, snorkeling and Calypso's famous lunch.

The "Tortuga Island Tour" includes: Air-conditioned bus transportation to and from San José, Jacó, or Quepos, a Costa Rican-style Breakfast, BBQ Lunch served with chilled white wine, Soft Drinks & Fresh Fruit, Live Music, and Multilingual Guide. Optional Island Activities include: Canopy Adventure, Kayaks - Paddle Boats, Snorkeling Excursion, and Banana Boat Ride.

Punta Coral Private Reserve Cruise

Accessible only by boat, Punta Coral is set in a pristine Tropical Dry Forest (less than 2% left in the world today) and has a quiet beach on one side and a valley filled with flowering plants, interesting rock formations and numerous caves on the other.

From Puntarenas' port, it is a 45 minute cruise to Punta Coral. Spend the late morning on the easy to walk nature trails. The many varieties of trees and interesting plants are labeled and the ocean views are spectacular. There are numerous fruit trees on the property which provide food for the wild animals native to the area.

Troops of Howler Monkeys, Yellow Naped Amazon Parrots, a variety of hummingbirds and butterflies call this special place "home". A superb seafood lunch with chilled white wine is served in a covered dining area overlooking the ocean. Dine in casual elegance. In the afternoon, explore more of this beautiful paradise by sea kayak, take a refreshing swim in the calm waters surrounding the reserve or simply relax in the shady hammock area and enjoy the tropical breeze.

The Punta Coral Private Reserve Day Cruise includes: Air-Conditioned Bus Transportation from San Jose, Jaco, or Quepos, Costa Rican-style Breakfast, Gourmet Seafood Lunch served with chilled White Wine, Soft Drinks & Fresh Tropical Fruit, Multilingual Naturalist Guide, Sea Kayaks, and Hammocks.

Calypso Cruises Island Tours invites you to experience blue water, white sand, green mountains, superb cuisine (featured in Gourmet Magazine) and attentive personal service!
