Animal and plant photography is a favorite pastime of the people here. Monkeys live in the treetops and sometimes are on the roof or are watching you swim from over the pool area and sloths slowly climb the trees about the gardens searching out their favorite food leaves. On the grounds of Casa Mono Coco you will find Coco Palms and other trees with edible fruit ripe for the blender, Ferns, Bromeliads and Orchids are growing everywhere. When it rains the area abounds with the sounds of Costa Rica's famed tree frogs. Swimming at night in Casa Mono Coco's pool yields a star-studded sky unlike that known in North America. Activities in the area of Casa Mono Coco are astonishingly multifaceted: snorkeling, surfing, fishing, cayaking, bungee jumping, wildlife viewing & photography, Spanish Language Schools, TEFL Training, Massage & Yoga, Sun Bathing & shelling. Quepos has three gyms for a more organized approach to exercise and a weekly old-fashioned market including delicious hand-churned butter and home-made pies and cakes. White water rafting and canyoneering is very popular as is horse-back riding to Quebrada Arroyo in the Cerra Naros mountain range above Quepos.
