I will be going back to Jaco many times, and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere but La Paloma Blanca.
As your driving down the road to La Paloma Blanca, you see the beach literally infont of you and turn into a charming Spanish architecture inspired La Paloma Blanca. The staff, who are incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional, are by the gate 24/7 to ensure your security and make sure all your needs are met. The pool downstairs, with the hut type trees, barbeque, and waterfall is the best place to relax when you're taking a break from the waves. In your room, you have every element of comfort and all the modern amenities at your fingertips. The condos, with balconies overlooking the beach, offer the best spot to lay your legs on the ottoman, close your eyes and relax. If you want a change, turn around and you have the mountains and rainforest portrating a breathtaking view. Whether you want to sleep with the windows open and hear the sound of the waves breaking, sip on a frozen margarita on the balcony, lay on the comfortable couches to relax your muscles (I highly suggest calling a masseuse to your room!), or cook yourself a yummy costa rican dish in the fully equipped kitchen, no doubt about it you're going to be comfortable, relaxed, and in heaven during your stay at La Paloma Blanca. A short walk or bike ride from La Paloma Blanca will lead you to the heart of Jaco. Whether your craving Argentinian cuisine, fresh sushi (You have to try Tsunami Sushi), or a traditional Costa Rican dish, you have restaurant after restuarant to delight your palette. My personal favorites are the fried bananas, ceviche, and the donuts in the sweetly aroma filled bakeries.
While the people of Jaco are laid back and relaxed, they sure know how to party it up. Check out Jungle Bar and you'll see breakdowncers putting on a top-notch show for clubgoers. Or if you want to salsa try Wednesday nights at Jungle Bar. The bars are all lined up and at the end of the night you're made new friends because everyone is so friendly. If you're craving pro-surf waves, take a bike ride down to Hermosa and eat breakfast al Las Olas. Enjoy your breakfast burrito, pancakes with bananas, or the Gringo (egg, cheese and potatos) by checking the waves. Make sure to watch it down with a papaya smoothie.
