"The staff here are wonderful. There is a well stocked market, gym, bank, soda and pizza place and beach within easy walking distance. Both the pizza place and soda have great food. It is on a bus route and taxis are cheap and available if you want to the true further afar. The complex has a nice pool, a family of howler monikers can sometimes be seen by the pool. The two bedroom units are clean and spacious. Weekly cleaning is available at very reasonable rates. Monthly rentals are very reasonable..I would stay again and I recommend it as comfortable and very safe accommodations. "

"It was our first visit to CR and the owners and staff at Villa Ferlito made it fantasic. They gave us great suggestions for places to go. The apt was clean, spacious and quiet. My favorite features were the pool, the washer (pack light) and shady porch where we drank morning coffe. A great value."

"It was a great stay. The Howler Monkeys were cute, just over to the side of the pool, high up in the tree. The accommodations were great, clean, well stocked, beds comfortable, very nice furniture, air conditioning and fans. Awesome, is about all I can say for this place. Next to a 5 star, this would be the best. Even though places were close enough to walk to, I would recommend you rent a car and don't forget to hire Juan and Haviar for your tours. Hope I have spelled their names right."

"My experience at Villa Ferlito was great. The staff was very friendly and spoke Spanish and English, which was very helpful. The pool and facilities were well kept. It was nice to have air conditioning available in the bedrooms. Everyone staying at Villa Ferlito was friendly as well. We went on a catamaran tour set up by Javier, a tour guide who was staying across from us. Miguel who also stayed there gave us a surf lesson at Playa Grande. We also ate dinner at his family's restaurant Pollo Tropical, which was absolutely delicious. On Playa Flamingo we went to Coco Loco. I really enjoyed walking along all the beaches. I would definitely stay at Villa Ferlito in the future. We had a rental car so we went to Playa Avellenas to Lola's and Tamarindo as well. The location is very convenient so we were able to explore the area. There is a grocery store down the road. The owner Dan was there and he was able to give us great advice on what to do and where to stay for the last two days of our trip as we had to drop a friend off in Liberia. Because of the owners' advice our last two nights were spent at the amazing Buena Vista Lodge instead of an ordinary Best Western. My experience was wonderful and I can't wait to go back. From the facilities to the people, my stay at Villa Ferlito was wonderful."

"Villa Ferlito was a great place to return to at the end of my day. My days were filled with biking, natural history tours , beach walking and swimming. Natural history tour guides picked me up at the villa. Bike rides on back roads and beaches were divine.
After a full day of exploring, returning to Villa Ferlito was sweet. A dip in the well maintained pool was refreshing. The accommodations were clean, clean clean. The clientele that is attracted to this establishment is diverse and enjoyable. The staff is beyond accommodating. Oh, and the local fauna is a treat. "

"My fiancé and I travelled to Costa Rica for a writing retreat. We were recommended to Villa Ferlito by a local Tica working at one of the Flamingo resorts up the road. After looking at a few other neighboring properties, Villa Ferlito was a breath of fresh air!

The apartments are roomy and comfortable. There is a very large open living and dining room and two large bedrooms, both with AC units. Fresh linens are provided and the unit comes with a washer, dryer, and all the kitchen essentials. Management even provides some bathroom toiletries to get you started. A very nice touch!

The complex is large enough for introverts to sly under the radar, but small enough for extroverts to make friends at the pool or Sunday night dinner. This was perfect for us because my fiance's an introvert while I'm an extrovert. He could stay in the apartment while I mingled with the neighbors.

The people at Villa Ferlito are very friendly. There's always someone at the pool willing to chat. Management is the best. Christina and Robert are always ready to help and offer their assistance. Mario works at Reception and speaks excellent English for all the American and Canadian visitors. :) and...Monkeys roam the property at dusk and dawn, which was delightful!

The only thing I would recommend for guests of Villa Ferlito - come with a car. We didn't have one and had to walk everywhere, which was interesting and oftentimes cumbersome.

But all in all, great time there! Was able to finish my book!"

"Our two bedroom apartment at Villa Ferlito served as a really great base from which to explore the many beautiful beaches and other sites in the area. Though it is not on the beach, it is very conveniently situated between Playa Flamingo and Playa Basilito and on different days we walked to both beaches from our apartment. There are back roads to get to each beach so that you do not have to walk the main road. Villa Ferlito also has some mountain bikes to rent very cheaply and one day we rode to Flamingo, Brasilito, and then on to Playa Conchal, an outstanding beach as well. From Villa Ferlito it is also easy to get to Playa Danta and Dantita, where you can rent sea kayaks, sup surfboard gear, and ride the 15k+ of single track mountain bike trails they have put in there. We rented a sea kayak and paddled to Playa Penca, Playa Prieta, and Sugar Beach as well. All amazing beaches with no one else there! Another wonderful treat was the howler monkeys that migrate down to the trees by the swimming pool at the Villa every afternoon! It was great to watch and photograph the baby monkeys clinging on the mother monkey's backs! We also felt very safe at Villa Ferlito and never once worried about leaving our belongings in our apartment. Staff was great and very helpful too! We had a great time!"

"The place is large enough, clean enough, and quiet enough. Most guests were from US or Canada, and were there for 2 weeks to 6 months. The place is spotless and in our 2 week stay, we never heard a sound from any neighbors. Howler monkeys might wake you at 5:45 am, but that's one of the joys of Costa Rica! The office employee speaks English. The pool guy and the night security guy speak only Spanish, but will talk very slow and use sign language and try to communicate in a very friendly manner. When I carried a pitcher of water out to rinse off the car windshield, an employee came running with a water hose and rinsed the whole car. Note that the A/C units are only in the bedrooms the living room and kitchen will remain stuffy all the time. It's 90 degrees there but I was surprised how many people don't run their A/C at all! They live like the locals -- with open doors and windows. My apartment had brand new kitchen appliances and dishes for 4, but otherwise, the place is sparsely furnished. The bedroom contains a bed and NOTHING else. There is a closet but no hangers. There is no coffee table or end table. We used our empty suitcases for tables and nightstands. But, it's clean, safe, and affordable, and a short walk to the beach and a couple "sodas" (local restaurants)."

"Best family vacation to date!
Villa Ferlito has a great location.
You will want a vehicle which will grant you acccess to almost infinite options.
Beaches, local food, zip lines.
The rain forrest, volcano, and white water rafting are only a half day drive with plenty of sights along the way.
Then back to the Beaches!
Or relax in the pool at the villa.
Then plan another place for dinner. We never found a bad meal.
Did I mention the Beaches.......
Villa Ferlito, awsome spot!

"Had a wonderful experience with this place. The proprietor was in touch with me from beginning to end to walk me through the reservation, give advice on what to do in Costa Rica, and address any concerns I had.
The rooms were spotless, the kitchen appliances look practically brand new, both bedrooms had AC units, the beds were very comfortable, and the employees were very friendly and eager to help in any way they could.
On foot, this place is 10 minutes away from a supermarket, 20 minutes away from one beach, and 30 minutes away from a second beach in the opposite direction. Not a lot of cars so the walks were rather pleasant. We never even made use of the pool, but it looked very nice!"
