Natural Lodge Caño Negro
Natural Lodge Caño Negro began their operations with the idea of attracting sport fishing clientele. Over time, our vision has changed allowing us to take advantage of the great potential that is the Caño Negro Wild Life Refuge. With our new focus, we now offer a wide variety of options to the visitors of Costa Rica such as: bird watching, photography, the observation of flora and fauna, wildlife adventure, wetlands discovery and cultural exposure. With the additional activities offered, arose the need to expand our infrastructure, which resulted in the construction of our 42 rooms, large restaurant, swimming pool, with bar and on-site gardens, where you can look the most impressive birds.
With a focus on growth and natural development, Natural Lodge Caño Negro has created new jobs for habitants of Caño Negro, giving them new growing opportunities and allowing them to learn new skills. These wonderful people now make up our entire staff at Natural Lodge Caño Negro, where they offer you a customized service that makes you feel like home.

Accommodations and Amenities at Natural Lodge Caño Negro
Natural Lodge Caño Negro has 42 comfortable rooms with: two double beds in each room, A.C., and private bathrooms with hot water, and a security box. Complimentary Continental Breakfast is included with your Room Rate.
The Restaurant Jabiru & Bar
Restaurant Jabiru proudly serves Local and International Cuisine. Whether you are a vegetarian or meat lover, you will be very happy tasting our dishes and drinks. The comfortable space offers enough space for our guests and offers a fresh and ventilated atmosphere.
Our staff will offer you the best service and make it you feel at home. Other restaurant services include: receptions, honeymoons, conventions and meetings. The Restaurant Jabiru is open for Breakfast from 7:00 am to 10:00 am, Lunch from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and Dinner from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Bar Hours are: 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Swimming Pool and Congo Wet Bar
Contemplate a beautiful afternoon and discover your satisfaction surrounded by an exuberant ecological atmosphere in our swimming pool and enjoy a delicious cocktail at our wet bar.
The wet bar, Congo Bar, is the point of contact for relaxing or chatting with other guests. Located in the main swimming pool of the complex, the Congo Bar serves drinks and varied sandwiches. The Pool Hours are: 8:00 am to 10:00 pm and the Congo Wet Bar Hours are: 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
About Caño Negro's Wetlands
Caño Negro's amazing wetlands are located in the northern zone of Costa Rica, close to the small village of Los Chiles in the Province of Alajuela. Caño Negro is mainly conformed by the Caño Negro Lagoon and the Rio Frio. It is one of the most important biological areas of the country and the four most important wetlands area in the world.
Caño Negro Wild Life Refuge was declared “Wildlife Area of International Importance” in 1991. This Costa Rica ecological treasure is the natural habitat of more than 350 species of birds, as well as the emerald basilisk, iguanas, river turtles, caimans and jaguars.
