Xandari Resort & Spa is a tropical paradise of 22 individually designed villas nestled on a 40 acre plantation overlooking the Central Valley of Costa Rica, and only 20 minutes from the San Jose International Airport. At an elevation of 3900 feet (1200 meters), Xandari enjoys a near–perfect temperature of around 70 degrees Fahrenheit all year.
Each spacious villa, surrounded by gardens, has a large view terrace for enjoying the sunset and lights of the valley at night, plus a walled–in terrace for privacy and solitude. Our spa village is set in a tropical garden and includes 5 private palm–roofed jalapas with jacuzzis and a picturesque view of the Central Valley. Enjoy a massage, mud wrap, facial, and various exotic body treatments with a distinctive Costa Rican flavor. Xandari Resort & Spa was named by World Travel Award as Costa Rica’s Leading Spa Resort.
Our indoor/outdoor restaurant features a healthy continental and Costa Rican menu. Many of the fruits and vegetables are from our own organic greenhouse, orchard and gardens. Dine in intimate and elegant simplicity while enjoying a panoramic view of the Central Valley.
Swim in one or our two 60 foot long lap pools and sunbathe on the pool terraces. Original art is everywhere at Xandari… paintings, tapestries, mosaics, quilts, stained glass, sculpture. Stroll through botanic gardens interspersed with sculpture. A wide range of plants are identified. Hike over 4 kilometers of private scenic trails to intimate river vistas and dramatic waterfalls. Visit our orchid house and greenhouse.

Xandari Villas
Prima Villas
Prima Villas are spacious villas of approximately 500 sq. ft in a building of two to four villas. Most Prima villas have two full beds, and two Prima villas have King beds. All Prima villas have a private terrace with a panoramic view of Central Valley, an enclosed terrace on the entry side of the villa, a bar kitchen and small refrigerator.
Prima Plus Villas
Prima Plus Villas are similar in size to the Prima Villa, but with these added features: Most Prima Plus villas are free-standing individual buildings for privacy. In addition to a large private view terrace, each has a private garden on the side and in the rear. A large bathroom opens to the garden, with two lavatories and additional storage space. A built-in sofa can be used as an extra bed. An electric cart is available for transportation uphill 200 meters to our main building, restaurant and swimming pools.
Villas 15 and 16 are exceptions to the above. These Prima Plus villas are in a four villa building and feature a sleeping alcove with King bed, with a Central Valley view on one side and a private garden on the other side.
Villa 20 is our only villa with a dramatic palm roof. This is a free-standing individual Prima Plus villa with a garden view and is a favorite of birders.
Ulta Villas
Ulta Villas are larger, individual free-standing villas for maximum space and privacy. Approximately 735 sq. ft. All have a private terrace with a panoramic view of the Central Valley, an enclosed terrace on the entry side of the villa, and a bar kitchen with a small refrigerator.
Ultra Plus Villas
Ultra Plus Villas are our newest and largest villas of approximately 820 sq. ft, located near the Spa Village. They all have a King bed and two convertible sofa beds, a roman bathtub overlooking a private garden in addition to a shower. Each has a private terrace with a panoramic view of the Central Valley, a generous bar kitchen with small refrigerator. An electric cart is available for transportation uphill 200 meters to our main building, restaurant and swimming pools.

Welcome to Xandari’s Spa Village, perched at 4290 ft. (1300 meters), with a breathtaking view of Costa Rica’s Central Valley. Only 20 minutes from the San Jose International Airport, it is a well-hidden jewel.
