Do not buy a time share at Villas Sol. You will be lied concerning it's true value and the profits you will make from it. BE WARNED. They won't return your large deposit even if they cancel your time share.

Timeshare scam!!!! Told us we would se. Our price for certain price guaranteed, not true! Told us we can get vacation weeks from $100 to no more than $750. Saw weeks for over $2000. Told broker fees were $240 for one time fee. $249 is for one year and $595 for additional 5 years. Lies after lies. Canceled before ten days which is what they told us. Still not credited amount and then they are trying to charge us still for closing fees, guess again! Pleeeeaaaase don't get scammed like we did

El hotel en si es muy lindo y la atención muy buena, el problema es la comida, varios de mis amigos se intoxicaron con la comida que sirvieron, en pocas palabras la comida no es de muy buena calidad.

I travel often, and have stayed in several timeshare resorts. This was the worst, by far! I was there attempting to celebrate my 30th birthday, and ended up with an experience to forget. Take heed to the real reviews and do not waste your money. There are many nice resorts in the area where you will really get your money's worth.
When I checked in, I asked for an upgrade from the hotel. So, I was told that I was upgraded to a villa. Yeah right! They said my room wasn't ready yet. So, I ate at the restaurant (serves rice EVERY day for EVERY meal). Once it was ready, I hopped on a shuttle and went. When I walked up to the door, I saw a trail of mold from the top. That should have been a sign. I opened the door and the first thing I saw was mosquitoes swarming. I was bitten about 3 times during the 5 mins I was in the room. The second thing I noticed was that this so-called villa upgrade was SMALLER than a hotel room! Everything was outdated. And, it was dusty and dirty. (Someone else's hair was on the floor by the bed.) After enduring a couple bites, I caught a mosquito in my hand. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and.....*drumroll*....the WATER DIDN'T WORK!!!! I tried the bathtub faucet. No water there either! I called a shuttle and went back to the reception office where I FELL ASLEEP waiting on them to fix the water and spray for mosquitoes. I was told that I HAD to stay in that room for the night because my original room had already been given away and there were no more rooms available. The next morning, I called to ask if any more rooms had become available and was told "no". However, when I spoke to a manager, he found me another room (in the hotel) in a matter of minutes. Hmmm.... I later found out that the "upgraded" room I had been given was actually supposed to have been blocked off for renovations. Thanks, Villas Sol!
I went to check into my hotel room, and it was filthy. It had not yet been cleaned. One of the hotel employees called and got me my correct room. FINALLY, after almost 2 days, I got a decent room. Aside from the spiders, beetles, and gecko that stayed in my room with me, it wasn't half bad.
Restaurant- The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is very average. It's definitely not worth an all-inclusive price.
Area- Overall, Costa Rica is absolutely breath-taking! The greenery on the resort is beautiful! However, the resort is very secluded. So, don't think you're going to be able to leave the resort and go walking around shopping, sight-seeing, etc... You have to take a cab anywhere you want to go. And, they're NOT cheap!
During my timeshare presentation, I explained what I had dealt with during my stay. The employees apologized many times. And, the man who did my presentation, Richard, along with Jose (who supposedly has some clout at the resort) gave me their word that they would make sure I would be compensated for my trouble. I've heard NOTHING from them since. Both lied!
Sergio in reception was the only one who was truly helpful during my stay. Most of the workers were very friendly and helpful. However, the room and the food were not worth it. I wouldn't even return if I were given a FREE stay! What a way to celebrate my 30th! NEVER again!

Our travel agent suggested Villas Sol. It was a great place and we had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. The accommodations were better than expected based on the web site. The view from our villa ½ way up the hill was a spectacular view of the bay and the surrounding hills. The food was tasty, varied and plentiful. I would eat more pineapple if I could. Even the black beans and rice were good. I don’t normally drink coffee, but their coffee was outstanding and enjoyable. The facility was clean and well maintained and safe. There were programs appealing to mature and young adults, and children. if you wanted more than the resort offered, the four tour agencies on site had many tour offerings, or you could rent a car at the airport and tour on your own. The staff was genuinely friendly and anxious to assure you enjoyed your stay in Costa Rica and Villas Sol. There were time sharing sale representative as well as beach vendors anxious to sell you their offering but they could be dismissed with a friendly smile and a “no.” A return visit is a definite possibility. I can see why many of the resort guests were native to Costa Rica.

We were scammed by the Villas Sol... We listened to one of their timeshare presentations... We agreed on signing up, because they promised two free weeks in Hawaii. They even put it in the contract as bonus weeks... For the last 6 months, we've been trying to get in touch with them about these "free weeks", which now they deny ever existed. Their customer service is horrible, they won't respond to us. We have tried to cancel the contract and get our down payment back... They keep saying we cant get our money back, because we signed the contract, but they're not living up to their end of the contract! They are the worst company I've ever dealt with... Please don't give your business to a fraudulent company!

Just wanted to let you know that me and my girlfriend visited your beautiful resort last Febuary and it was one of the best times of our lives. All your staff were very polite and terrific, down to earth people. The resort was magical. The setting on the side of the hill was gorgeous and the sunset every night was breathtaking!! I can't say enough good things about the little we have seen from Costa Rica and it was cemented by your hospitality. My best mate is getting married this year and he is probably heading over to you!! Thanks for the memories.

Impecable Vacation! - My wife and I and our three children (ages 5, 11 and 13) just returned from a week (from April 15 - April 22) at the Villas Sol and did not want to come home! The resort was well groomed, the room was clean, and the food and drinks was all top shelf! The beach was spotless and not crowded at all.
