Hotel Zelandia is a small mountain hotel located between Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and Cacao Volcano. Hotel Zelandia is in a rural area where tourism, agricultural and ecological activity has flourished, the lodge is situated in a estate that protects the precious flora and fauna and where you will find primary and secondary forest. The lodge is a natural place that gives you the opportunity to enjoy the our diverse nature and observe a great variety of colorful birds, howling monkeys, spider monkeys, zainos, armadillos and more.

At Hotel Zelandia you will also enjoy the incredible views of the Gulf of Papagayo, Nicaragua Lake, the Rincon de la Vieja and Cacao volcanoes. On a clear day you can also admire both the Atlantic and the Pacific coasts.

Activities at Hotel Zelandia

Hotel Zelandia offers you a range of activities where you will experience nature at its best.

We offer Hiking Tours through the local mountains observing flora and fauna in its natural habitat where you can see trees more than 100 years old. You will also see an amazing number of birds as well animals. You will also have the chance to explore our exotic plant garden where butterflies and birds are plentiful.

We also offer horseback riding where you can explore the Cacao Volcano and witness the amazing diversity in our area. We then take to you a waterfall deep in the forest and continue to the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. Here you will be able to see the Atlantic and Pacific ocean as well as the large number of animals in the area.

Inside Hotel Zelandia you will have the chance to observe and practice, milking of the cows, feeding them, and taking them to the pastures. You will learn all about milk and meat processing typical to the region and how the breed of cattle in the area is genetically improved to increase production.
