RipJack Inn pool

RipJack in is located on Playa Grande in the northern part of the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The beach of Playa Grande has a three mile beach that is protected because it is a National Park where Leatherback Turtles nest. The surfing at Playa Grande is some of the best in the country. The beach is only a few minute walk from the hotel and it is the main attraction.

If you feel like venturing out a bit you can take a nice walk north to the secluded Playa Ventana or the black sand beach of Playa Carbon. If you walk south you will find Tamarindo just across the estuary. You can cross the estuary at low tide but at high tide do not attempt to swim this as it can be dangerous. In Tamarindo you will find it is a much larger town than Playa Grande. Here you will find many restaurants, bars, shops and more. It is a great place to enjoy for the day.

RipJack Inn also has a tree top restaurant called Upstairs @ the RipJack. The food here is amazing and many people claim it is some of the best in Guanacaste. You can also enjoy the yoga, massage and surf lessons. The staff at RipJack will also help you arrange any activities including estuary tours, sailing, scuba diving, golfing and much more, just ask. Most of all remember that RipJack Inn is a place to relax so don't forget to let it all go!

"My husband and I made a trip from Playa Flamingo into Tamarindo one day on our honeymoon to see the town and take a surf lesson. The shop in Tamarindo had lost our reservation and the town really wasn't that appealing to us once we got there. One of the employees referred us to the RipJack Inn to rent boards and get a lesson. Once we made it to Playa Grande in our jeep, it was so worth it. The pictures dont do it justice. The beach has been kept in its natural state and its not overrun with people. The RipJack Inn is this small quaint building with rooms on the bottom and a husband and wife team running the restaurant above. By far, it was the best food we had in Costa Rica...the BBQ and fish & the servive were perfect and the sunset was spectacular. If you're making a budget trip to Costa Rica, or you just want to see the real Costa Rica in a laid-back, non-touristy non-generic resort setting, this is the place to go. "
