Overview

Would you go off the grid if you knew you did not have to give up luxury? When you book a stay at Pacuare Lodge, you get the best of both worlds: a remote location along the Pacuare River in Siquirres, paired with accommodations and amenities you would expect at a top-class hotel. The property features a full restaurant and bar, an infinity pool on the edge of the rainforest, Wi-Fi in the common areas, and native flora and fauna on its own private reserve.

Getting to the Pacuare Lodge requires a sense of adventure, as you can only access it by white water raft, helicopter, or 4x4 vehicle. Once you arrive, you will be treated to luxurious suites, fine dining, and exceptional customer service, all in the setting of a pristine tropical rainforest.

The twenty suites themselves offer guests privacy and a close connection to nature. Each room reflects the region’s natural beauty in the décor, with teak furniture, hardwood floors, and plenty of fresh air. The lodge is designed for relaxation; instead of television and Wi-Fi in each room, guests can surround themselves with the sounds of nature.

With a location this isolated, you may not expect gourmet dining, but the farm-to-table cuisine served at Pacuare Lodge could rival a big city’s restaurants. Guests enjoy a free full breakfast during their stay, and lunch and dinner feature fresh fruits and vegetables grown right on the property. For a more intimate dining experience, guests can opt for a romantic meal on a terrace next to the river. The lodge also has a bar for tropical cocktails and other spirits.

With the river right next to the lodge, you can find plenty of sights and activities to entertain and delight you. White water rafting and ziplining popular pursuits, but if you are looking for more relaxation, you can book a treatment at the Jawa Juü Spa or lounge by the pool. You can also explore by taking an ancient trail to a hidden waterfall or learn more about the rainforest with a sustainable tour and hike. Whether you want adventure, romance, or relaxation, Pacuare Lodge can act as home base for your memorable Costa Rican vacation.

"What an amazing two days. This was the last leg of our honeymoon, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, comfortable, romantic or fun ending to our trip. The staff is friendly and warm and well-informed. The lodge is beautiful – I loved living by candlelight! The food was incredible – so delicious & so many veggies. I will recommend this experience to all my friends."

"The lodge is exotic – enchanting & romantic – too bad I didn’t come here with my fiancé. Words & pictures can’t do it justice. You have to experience it yourself. The chef was super accommodating to my fanatic kosher requests (I brought my own utensils & supervised) & the food was delicious and fresh. The guides were authentic, helpful & friendly."
