Charming and Quaint Costa Rica at Fuego Lodge


The beautiful Fuego Lodge is located in Santa Teresa on the Nicoya Peninsula in North Puntarenas.

Just a few minutes’ walk from Playa Santa Teresa and just to the north of Playa Carmen, this family-owned lodge guarantees a personal touch to your stay. The property is situated close enough to town for it to be accessible, yet far enough away for you to still get the peace and quiet you’re after on your next Costa Rican vacation.

The property features simple yet sufficient décor with wood accents and clean rooms. The pool has thatcher roof umbrellas that have a very tropical feel and the lush gardens will draw you in and help you relax.

There is a large free parking area and free Wifi as well. To start your day off right, continental breakfast is available each morning and well worth getting up to enjoy.

Within walking distance, there are surf shops, grocery stores and coffee shops. There are also restaurants offering local Tico and international cuisine as well as a local bar open in the evening for drinks, music and lots of fun.

If you want to venture away from the hotel for a nice day trip, vehicle rentals are located a short walk away as well.

Whether you are a novice or a pro surfer, Santa Teresa and its beaches exhibit the perfect conditions to catch a wave! If surfing isn’t your thing, that’s ok because the beach by the hotel is great for swimming, sunbathing, relaxing or exploring the nearby tide pools. There truly is something for everyone!

The staff at Fuego Lodge prides themselves on making sure to offer incredible service. They offer daily on-site yoga, Pilates, and meditations with massage and private yoga or reiki sessions available upon request. The staff is also happy to help you plan a tour or excursion off the property with horseback riding, snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing being just a few of the many options from the hotel.

It’s also a great idea to spend a few days just relaxing by the gorgeous onsite pool or on the nearby beaches, enjoying the serene beauty of being nestled in the seclusion of the property.

Fuego Lodge offers seclusion and comfort in their rooms, apartments and suites.

Some rooms are located poolside and others with garden views. All units are equipped with air conditioning plus free toiletries, a flat screen tv and a tea/coffee maker. Apartments and studios have kitchenettes and a safe is standard for you to store your valuables while staying on the property.

The convenience of location, the comfort of the beds and the plethora of amenities in each room type is enough to truly make you feel at home in your surroundings with any room type that you choose.

One/Two Bedroom Apartment


If extra space is what you are after, then the 1076 square foot one-bedroom apartment or the 1345 square foot massive two-bedroom apartment might be just what you have been looking for!

Both layouts have space to house up to five guests in comfort. The one-bedroom is complete with two full sized beds and a twin bed while the two-bedroom variety has one queen sized bed and one twin bed in a room and one full in the second room.

These spaces are furnished with a kitchenette and indoor and outdoor sitting areas with enough room to move around comfortably. You can expect a balcony, hammock and spectacular views from any angle when you choose an apartment for your stay!

Do know that the living space is on the ground floor and the sleeping quarters are on the second floor so these rooms may not be best for those with mobility challenges.

Studio with Terrace


Located on the third floor, the Studio with Terrace is great for couples but can also sleep up to four guests.

The studio space, also known as the Penthouse or Honeymooners Suite features a queen size and twin size bed, fully equipped kitchen, indoor sitting areas and wide balcony that includes a hammock and couches for lounging on a lazy day.

The 1076 square foot studio has a living and a dining area as well as exquisite views of the garden, inner courtyard and mountains.

Garden View/Pool View Suites


Two full size beds are provided in the Garden View Suite and a generous 646 square feet of space to move about. Two queen beds are provided in the Pool View Suite and 484 square feet of living space including accommodations for up to four adults.

Both suites are supplied with an indoor and outdoor sitting area, mini bar, fan, tea/coffee maker, tv and ample storage for personal belongings. The Garden View Suite comes with a unique private outdoor kitchenette complete with a cooktop, refrigerator and bar top seating!

Standard King Room


The Standard King Room is perfect for vacationing couples or solo travelers! A comfortable king sized bed is included as well as a coffee maker, mini bar, tv, air conditioning and a ceiling fan.

Things to Do Near the Fuego Lodge


The Fuego Lodge is surrounded by tropical sights and sounds that you’ll want to experience during your next trip to Costa Rica. The staff puts a personal touch on every aspect of one's stay and is happy to help with excursions and tours upon request.

Stay in and lounge by the pool or visit one of the nearby beaches. The convenience of the location allows travelers the option of various restaurants, stores and sights to visit. There truly is an abundance of things to do in the area such as bike tours, snorkeling, hiking, fishing and horseback riding.

Go Surfing or Take a Surfing Lesson


Costa Rica is known for having many locations offering world-class surfing opportunities and Santa Teresa is one to consider if surfing is something you do or have wanted to try!

With consistent off-shore winds, the beaches by the hotel offer reefs and sandy point breaks perfect for beginners to pros. Do know that the rainy season, from May to December, offers amazing waves with plenty of barrels which for safety reasons, are best left to experienced surfers.

If you’re new to surfing, consider taking a surf lesson or staying at a surf retreat with packages covering everything you’ll need for the perfect trip.

Montezuma Waterfall Tour


Montezuma is located just over 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from the hotel and just about 30 or so minutes by car across the peninsula.

Go for a short hike over the rocks along the river and experience the tranquility for yourself. The falls offers an abundance of hidden beauty that will simply leave you speechless.

Hike in Cabo Blanco National Park


Nature lovers will absolutely love going for a hike in the Cabo Blanco National Park!

Home to well over 240 different types of birds, it’s a favorite of bird watchers and enthusiasts alike. The park also is a sanctuary for animals like deer, sloths, armadillos, and monkeys.
