Overview

Relax at Poas Lodge
Relax at Poas Lodge

Located just over two miles from the most visited National Park in Costa Rica, Poás Volcano National Park, Poas Lodge is perched high above the Central Valley and offers a small and serene vacation spot for its visitors. The lodge itself is owned by Stephan and Jimmie, two brothers from Texas who strive to provide southern hospitality in Central America.

Outside the lodge, guests will find a large, beautiful garden. The space is perfect for a leisurely stroll, sipping a drink and reading a book, having an afternoon picnic, or mingling with the other guests and learning about each other's Costa Rican adventures. At night, guests can look out at the valley below, taking in gorgeous views of the town's lights. It is the perfect backdrop for meditating or a romantic walk for two. Hiking and biking trails and ecotours are available nearby.

Perhaps the most popular spot at Poas Lodge is its restaurant. Visitors can stop by each morning to grab a free breakfast cooked to their tastes. Breakfast starts at 7:00 a.m. to ensure plenty of time to eat and get energized before a long day of exploring the nearby volcano. For dinner, which is served for two hours each evening, diners will find seasonal menu items featuring local produce. While visitors wait for their meals, they can grab a drink and sit by the cozy fireplace or simply pull up a chair by the window and gaze out over the valley. The restaurant also serves lunch by reservation. A number of restaurants are available nearby for those who prefer to dine out.

Guests who have questions or need assistance finding their way around the park can stop by the front desk. The multilingual staff will answer questions and provide directions with a smile on their faces. Wireless internet is available throughout the property. Parking is always free.
