Amazing bungalows at Luna Lodge

Carate Beach, located on the Osa Peninsula, is home to some of the lushest rainforests in the world. It is also where you can find Luna Lodge, an eco-lodge close to the Corcovado National Park and one of the best spots for travelers who want a memorable experience reconnecting with nature and finding inner peace. The hotel balances comfortable accommodations with an unspoiled environment to promote sustainability while providing a unique opportunity for guests looking for idyllic charm.

Every aspect of Luna Lodge demonstrates an appreciation for the nature and culture that define Costa Rica. The property offers comfortable rooms that blend into the natural surroundings, affording guests beautiful views from the main building as well as from their bungalows and tents. The lodge has many of the amenities guests can expect at a well-appointed resort, including an outdoor pool, full-service spa, restaurant and bar, organic garden, library, and gift shop. In addition, Luna Lodge also offers wellness retreats, yoga classes, and activities such as hiking and birdwatching, and access to both the beach and Corcovado National Park.

While staying at Luna Lodge, guests can satisfy their hunger at El Eclipse Total, the restaurant and bar located at the hotel. With a focus on international cuisine, the restaurant provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner to guests who have worked up an appetite exploring the natural surroundings. The lodge has its own organic garden which grows fruits and vegetables used in many of the dishes at the restaurant. The open-air bar and outside terrace and patio are other spots where guests can unwind and enjoy the sounds of the animals or the sweet smell of tropical plants in bloom.

With so much to do at Luna Lodge, you may not want to leave the grounds. The retreat center features more than just yoga; guests can also participate in tai chi, Nia, Reiki, and other wellness activities. You can explore the gardens to find one of three waterfalls and their wading pools, or just follow the calls of some of the many birds that inhabit the grounds. When you want to get another taste of the area, you may visit the beach at Carate or arrange an excursion to a nearby rainforest or nature reserve for a more structured way to experience the rainforest. No matter how you choose to spend your time at Luna Lodge, you can return home feeling relaxed and recharged.

"It was wonderful. I am not a person who is in shape, and while I did not go on the more strenuous hikes, I did a few walking tours. If you want to relax, birdwatch, read a book and enjoy the wonderful sound of howler monkeys waking you up at 4am in the morning, this is the place for you. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Vegetarian food that was terrific (best pineapple I have ever had!) and great conversations around the family-style dining table. I definitely would recommend Luna Lodge. I went with my sister and brother-in-law and they went back for another visit a year later. A wonderful place!"
