The Zancudo Lodge are extremely proud of our property as it has gone through many changes since the investment of new ownership back in 2005. Zancudo Lodge has now completed a successful transformation which includes the marriage of luxurious accommodations with the most raw traditional and natural environment.
Surrounded by the beauty of Costa Rican wildlife, tropical foliage and our tranquil beachfront, El Zancudo Lodge is ideally bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Coto River, we offer our guests the perfect setting for an unforgetable vacation accompanied by your choice of a variety of thrill seeking activities. Our guests can choose between a list of popular sports such as surfing, paddle boarding, premier catch and release sport fishing and kayaking or a variety of day tours indigenous to the Golfo Dulce such as a visit to a botanical gardens and a wildlife sanctuaries, oceanfront or trail horseback riding, a zip-line canopy flight through the rainforest, or bird watching or hiking through our national park. Those guests interested on enjoying the tranquility of the hotel can spend time relaxing by the pool, taking a stroll in our tropical fruit garden, playing a game of bocce ball on our regulation court, receiving a deep tissue massage, practicing yoga or pilates in the open air or simply relishing the vastness of the Pacific Ocean from the privacy of our Zancudo Beach.
Zancudo Lodge is located in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica, approximately 410km south of the capital province of San Jose or 60km north of the border of Panama.
Access to The Zancudo Lodge is simply a phone call away as the Lodge can arrange for your transportation either by a privately chauffeured vehicle or by plane from anywhere in the country. Most guests begin their adventure to the Lodge from Golfito, a quaint Costa Rican town built by the United Fruit Company. You will be met at a private Golfito marina or at the Golfito airport by our staff and we will transport you on a magical and scenic 20 minute ride on the beautiful and calm seas of the Golfo Dulce.
The Zancudo Lodge offers public space houses an elegant fountain reception area, gift shop, 3 lounge areas, a fine dining restaurant (seating capacity 40), bar (seating capacity 16) and a state of the art kitchen. On the second floor, there is a game lounge complete with a widescreen TV viewing area, pool table, shuffleboard table, card table, foosball and an indoor/outdoor massage relaxation room equipped with a shower.
Our guests will also find beautiful tropical gardens, green houses (with our own organically farmed product), our own Lodge marina located on the Rio Coto (where all guests are greeted with a VIP service of a welcoming drink and cold towel), a salt water pool and palapa lounge area, a regulation size bocce ball court and open air beachfront platforms (for exercise, lounging, etc).
The Lodge’s staff will be awaiting to meet and greet you and your guests. A brief introduction to the property will be given as you take a short stroll through our gardens to our main building entry.
