Activities

Manuel Antonio National Park Walking Tour.
It is an easy walk, Pick up from the Hotel’s reception at 7:30am, it takes 10min. drive to get to the park’s entrance. The Park’s entrance will take you on the “Forrest Trail”, deeper into the park’s area and it will be a bit longer than the beach trail (last for more than 1 and ½ hr, not only walking, but stopping by the way to see animals, and talk about the wild life that we are watching, using a telescope for closer views, it is very informative and fun).

Then; a break to rest on a white sand beach (it is not beach time), There is a second trail. The second trail is call “the beach trail”, last for 1hr. The two trails are mostly flat. And after visiting the park we are going to a local restaurant for a nice plate of fruits and a fruit punch. Return to the hotel by noon. If somebody will like to stay at the park’s beaches after the guided tour, (the ticket is good for the day), they can always come back to the Hotel by using the Hotel’s free shuttle service, according with the schedules.

Damas Island Boat Trip known as MANGROVE ESTUARY TOUR
The mangrove is the only kind of tree in the world that survives up from salty water. According to the experts this is one of the most complete environments in the world because it is an exchange point between ocean and land. It is a relaxing and very informative tour; and also fun because most of the times the monkeys jump all over the boat. Chances to see rainbow boa, crocodiles, silky anteater, opossum, water birds like the pink spoonbill, herons, white ibis, white headed eagle, and others.
It is one of the most recommended tours for the entire family. This is a fun family tour.

Mangrove Kayaking
It is the same area than the boat ride, but with kayaks. Easy paddling.
Noiseless, and with the kayaks you can go through small alleys where the boat is not able to go. The tour makes a break on a sand bank for some snacks(fruits, soft drinks, water, cookies).

Ocean kayaking or coastal paddling.
Coastal paddling requires good physical conditions. The tour leaves from Quepos bay, after about 1 hour, you take a break at a beach and have some snacks, you go back around Quepos Point. The tour ends at the pier area in Quepos , where we visit a local restaurant to have lunch or dinner.

Horseback Riding to the waterfalls.
Pick up at the Parador Hotel Reception. 30min. drive to get to Villa Nueva (a country side area), where the horses are ready for you on a country road. You will take horse trails and go up the hills into primary and secondary forest, then, up the river for 1 and ½ hr. to get to the Waterfalls; a quick hike to get to the two waterfalls where you will enjoy a refreshing dip in pristine waters, and take some pictures of the waterfall, and also you will have a snack (fruit, water, juice, cookies), you can stay at the waterfall for about 30min and then back on the horses for about one hour. At the end of the tour, you will be served a Traditional Costarican homemade meal.

Horseback Riding into a cattle farm.
Enjoy a scenic excursion on horseback through the Costa Rican countryside on trails that meander over 1000 stunning acres of working cattle ranch, natural reserve, African palm plantation, creeks and tropical fruit plantation. "It is a beautiful hotel in a nice location. I was there at the end of the rainy season, so it wasn't very busy and I got an excellent rate on one of the small rooms for myself and a friend. We ate breakfast and some lunches and one dinner there the food and service were very good. She is a native Spanish speaker and I am semiconversant but it wasn't an issue since most of the staff speak English. The view from the pool is great. Have a drink at the pool bar and enjoy! There are some nice local restaurants in Quepos I had the best tuna sashimi ever (caught that morning) at Restaurante Mar Luna. "

"This is where I usually stay in Manuel Antonio. Located at the end of a badly maintained road, it is away from the hustle and bustle of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Helpful staff and a nice breakfast each morning."
