Beautiful Resort Pool at Flamingo Beach Resort

Finding the perfect place to stay on your Costa Rican vacation may be one of the top things on your list! After all, this is where you will be sleeping and the region is where you're going to be exploring. On my last trip, I stayed at the Flamingo Beach Resort and Spa in Guanacaste. The beautifully modern d'cor and comfortable environment make this a great spot for both laid-back travelers and those who enjoy the finer things in life. I had a great time at this eco-friendly resort, and the folks here are incredibly welcoming! I'll share with you just a few of my favorite parts about staying here.

At Flamingo Beach Resort, they care for the environment, which is always a positive in my book. They protect local flora and fauna, have practices in place for proper usage of water, energy and air, and they also have eco-friendly activities available and a Blue Flag Certified beach.

Bring along the family

One of my favorite parts about this resort is that it is family-friendly (kids love me!). The entire family can enjoy being along the stunning shores of Flamingo Beach, because the resort is actually family-owned and operated and built so that for people can enjoy it! During my stay I watched a family enjoy splashing around in the small pool on the side of the hotel, and the head indoors where pool tables and foosball is open for all guests. This resort even has a small movie theater room and outdoor tennis courts.

Just for adults

Parents, you don't have to worry this resort isn't just for kids. The on-site casino is the perfect way to spend your evenings and try your hand at some luck. Although it is upscale and classy, the casino is still laid-back. Not into gambling? How about a spa afternoon? The indoor Jacuzzi tubs, saunas, steam-therapy, wraps, exfoliations and more make this the ultimate relaxation getaway. You can even get your hair cut here!

If you'd like to stay active, don't miss out on the daily yoga classes, salsa dancing lessons and the fitness center that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. During my stay here, I joined in on a water aerobics class that was challenging and fun!

Flamingo Beach Resort is also the site of one of the most famous pools in the area. The swim-up bar and in-pool lounges will have you leaving more relaxed than ever! But I will recommend an afternoon or two on Flamingo Beach where you can find wildlife and golden sand to dig your toes into. Try to make it out for a sunset you won't regret it!

Local attractions and activities

Although you could easily stay at the resort for your entire trip, there are plenty of area attractions where you can explore the land. You can drive 25 minutes and be in the small surf town of Tamarindo or head over to Buena Vista for the hot springs, canopy tour and water slide! Is your family always looking for a new adventure? You can venture out to a nearby canopy tour, or go scuba diving or snorkeling along the shores.

I also love that this resort is just a short drive away from some of the best National Parks in Costa Rica, like Marino Las Baulas National Park, Palo Verde National Park and Wildlife Refuge, Vida Silvestre Ostional Refuge.
