Gastronomic Offer

Like the rest of Costa Rica, the restaurants in Cartago also serve an array of food ranging from the ever-popular continental Chinese and Italian dishes to delicious local Tico fare like the famous casado. Chicken, beef and fish are served in most restaurants, with some places now even serving vegetarian meals. Many hotels, lodges and inns in the Heredia also have eateries and restaurants on their premises to serve their guests as well as tourists who are just passing by.

Local Tico Restaurants - Sodas

Sodas are a great option to have a cheap and affordable meal especially if you are on a budget. Mostly serving Tico grub, lots of sodas now also serve foods like pizzas and burgers for people who are on the go. There are plenty of sodas near Turrialba, Costa Rica’s white water rafting capital and they serve a great diversity of food. Freshwater fish is very common here, due to the town’s close proximity to the Rios Reventazon and Pacuare.
