The climate here is generally warm, with January to May being the warmest of months. The area gets limited rainfall during September and October.

Getting to Islita

Flying to Punta Islita is recommended during the wet season as the roads tend to get flooded. Direct flights are available to the area from major domestic airports throughout Costa Rica, like the Tobias Bolanos Airport Pavas or the San Jose International Airport in San Jose. During the dry season you can take the wandering roads and drive either from Samara to Carrillo or take a ferry from the city of Punatrenas to Playa Naranjo and then drive through the villages of Coyote and Pueblo Nuevo to Corozalito. Driving by a car allows you to take in the beauty of the area and enjoy the enticing landscape along the way.
