Beautiful Butterflies in Costa Rica - Photo Gallery

With bright colors and unique patterns, the butterflies of Costa Rica add much beauty to the country.

The country is known for many of its bigger characteristics, like volcanos and large crocodiles, but the smaller things aren’t to be overlooked.

This Costa Rica butterflies photo gallery captures these small, quiet moments that remind us all how magical nature can be.

These small creatures are part of a vast and diverse catalog of animals that call Cost Rica home.

The country is able to sustain such diversity because it takes great care to protect its land, animals, and plants. Tourists are drawn to Costa Rica year after year because it has become one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Be sure to take in the background of these pictures as you browse the gallery, so you can appreciate the butterflies and their home even more.

We traveled all around Costa Rica to capture these stunning butterfly photos for you. Some of our stops included the La Paz Butterfly Garden, Butterfly Garden at Poas Volcano, Barbilla National Park, Hitoy-Cerere Biological Reserve, and the Rio Macho Forest Reserve.

We captured some amazing butterflies, including a Sara Longwing Butterfly, a Postman Butterfly, an Owl butterfly, and Swallowtail Butterflies.
