Accommodations in North Puntarenas are plentiful with many budget and mid-range hotels found allover the place. Inns, lodges, vacation rentals, hotel rooms and cabins can be rented out at affordable rates. There are also a number of top-end all inclusive ecolodges in the area as well.
These top notch surf destinations offer the widest variety of hotels which range from the overnight B&B’s to luxury resorts and cabinas.
Along the Central Pacific Coast you can find a number of hotels and resorts that are both affordable as well as expensive. One of the best places to stay at in this area has to be Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Nearby the renowned Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, this part of the province has a number of budget hotels and top class resorts. Quepos also offers some of the best vacation rentals, along with some wonderful offshore sportfishing prospects.
For a surfer vacation here, head to the towns of Puntarenas, Dominical and Jaco which offer inexpensive hotels and hostels, where you can enjoy some fine dining cuisine along with a plenty of water based sports. On Jaco beach the surfing conditions are superb with consistent breaks all year round. Mal Pais, Santa Theresa, Tambor and Montezuma on the Nicoya Peninsula have a number of vacation rentals offering stunning oceanic views, charming sunsets and all the latest amenities any home could ask for.
There are all inclusive resorts to be found up and down the coast. A good option is to head to the Mal Pais and Santa Theresa area. A surfer haven, you can find a number of resorts here that are willing to fulfill your every whim and need. Another top tourist destination to head for is Jaco, which caters to the surfer crowds as well as younger couples. If you are here with your family, Quepos and it adjoining area is a great region to stay at, being so close to the Manuel Antonio National Park.
North Puntarenas also has a number of golf resorts. The best golf resort in this region has to be the Los Sueños Marriott Beach and Golf Resort, considered to be one of the best all inclusive resorts in the country. Located in Playa Herradura, the La Iguana Golf Course at the Marriott has 18 holes with a par of 72; Spread out over 6,707 yards, this course is border by the Pacific Ocean on one side and a forest on the other. On the other hand, in the Tambor area, there are two 9-hole course golf resorts—The Los Delfines, which sits next to the Barceló Tambor Resort, and the Tango Mar Hotel Beach and Golf Resort.
