Thanks to its tropical climate, Costa Rica is the perfect place to while away a lazy afternoon on the beach. Fortunately, the weather also means that for most of the year, the waters off the Pacific and Caribbean Coast are the ideal temperature for a relaxing swim. I'm not much of a swimmer myself, but it sure looks fun!
With miles of pristine beaches, isolated rocky coves and warm water, Costa Rica's two coastlines are the perfect place to swim. With so many idyllic beaches, you'll never be far from the azure waters of the Pacific Ocean or Caribbean Sea, so grab a beach towel and hit the waves!
You don't have to limit yourself to swimming in the ocean on your Costa Rica vacation. There are hundreds of lakes, rivers and tranquil lagoons located across the country that are waiting for you. Imagine cooling off in one of the clear rivers that wind through the rainforest after a long hike in the jungle! Sounds inviting, doesn't it?
Swimming in Costa Rica is just one of the many ways you can get away from it all and enjoy the majesty of nature in this tropical paradise. Just don't forget your bathing suit!

It's no secret that there are many different species of animals in Costa Rica - and I've met quite a few of them! One of my favorite animals is the manatee. They are such nice creatures and are incredibly gentle. One time, I hopped on the back of one in Tortuguero National Park and I saw the park like never before! But you don't have to be a small tree frog to swim with the manatees; humans can just as easily go diving or snorkeling alongside these fragile mammals. Even if you're staying in Costa Rica all inclusive resorts, you may want to take a side trip to view these majestic creatures...

During the
dry season, it can get pretty humid in Costa Rica. After a long day spent trekking through the country's lush rainforests and
national parks, why not cool off with a refreshing dip? If you're spending time in Cartago, located in Costa Rica's Central Valley, you're never far away from a tropical oasis.
