The Marina
Many people come to Costa Rica because of the beautiful shoreline and water activities available here, and the nearby Los Sueños Marina is one of the best off-land amenities around. The internationally acclaimed marina gives travelers easy access to calm waters where an abundance of marine life reside. There are plenty of reasons why this marina sticks out from the rest, beyond the outstanding views.
In fact, it's the only government-sanctioned marina in Costa Rica, and includes 100 dry slips and 200 wet slips that you can take advantage of with the help of the friendly on-site staff. Ever wanted to go sportfishing? This is the place to do it! The off-shore water is some of the best for sportfishing, and you can venture out to the deep blue sea on vessels that range from 30 to 180 feet. This world-class marina is strategically placed to give you direct access to the best fishing waters around trust me, it's very likely you'll catch a fish here! Plus, the marine supply store and shopping center has everything you need for an afternoon of sportfishing, and you can store anything you don't want to bring along with you at the mini self-storage units.
Pacific Sailfish on line off of Los Sueños MarinaLos Suenos is also the site of one of the best sportfishing tournaments on the circuit, Los Sueños Signature Billfish Series. The Marlin Invitational is another popular event that locals and residents of the resort enjoy. While you might not be able to make it here during this time of year, anglers enjoy knowing that they can fish in one of the best locations in the country!
I recommend checking out the on-site restaurants if you want to grab a bite. You can also head to the bar to relax with a beverage or the cafe to sip some coffee and check out the view. The marina village features 40,000 square feet of retail space so you don't even have to leave the marina itself the entire day. If you want a nice meal, head over to El Galeon fine dining restaurant or Lanterna Ristorante Italiano, and finish your meal with some dessert at Dolce Vita Coffee and Sweets.
