Pool at night at the CC Beachfront Papagayo All-Inclusive
Arriving at Casa Conde Beach Front Papagayo Hotel
Casa Conde, sometimes shortened to CC Beach Front Papagayo, takes advantage of its location along Panama Beach to serve its guests a beautiful view of the ocean from just about anywhere on the property. Staying near Playa Hermosa along the North Pacific Coast of the Guanacaste region has been a treat every time I’ve visited.
I’ve stayed here two times prior, and it’s even where I got married. My most recent visit was more low-key, as I stayed here with friends for five nights, but it was just as enjoyable as my other experiences here.

First Impressions of the Hotel and its Surroundings
The grounds of the hotel set the tone for our trip. While driving through the gate, I saw towering Guanacaste trees - which are indigenous to the area - providing shade to the property. The incorporation of nature added to the beautiful landscaping.

Check-in
Check-in was a painless process. I was greeted with a welcoming drink and handed over my luggage at reception. While I waited for hotel staff to put the finishing touches on my room, I was invited to have lunch and take in more of the property.
Walking around after check-in, I saw two large swimming pools, with one being freshwater and the other saltwater. Both pools had lounge chairs arranged in and out of the shade of the trees.

My Ocean View Room
I knew from research and prior experiences staying there that all the rooms at Casa Conde Beach Front Resort are beautiful.
This visit, I stayed in an Ocean View room, which offered amazing views overlooking the pool and the beach beyond. My room was of course spacious and clean.
A Taste of Pura Vida at the Hotel
Relaxation is the name of the game at Casa Conde. With plenty of amenities and opportunities for exploration to take advantage of, I had no shortage of entertainment available.

The Resort's Amenities and Facilities
Casa Conde’s standout amenities include its on-site eateries, bars, and two pools. Guests have access to conveniences including a hotel shuttle, tour booking services, WiFi, and in-room massages.

Swimming pools
There are two full-size pools at the hotel, including one regular pool and one saltwater pool. I could see the beach from the pool deck and while swimming. Both have lounge chairs nearby as well as bars, and I enjoyed sipping a refreshing drink in the afternoon heat after cooling off in the water.

Restaurants and Bars
The main restaurant at Casa Conde is a la carte style for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a limited menu. Outside of the restaurant’s usual hours, you could order hot snacks, with classic fare like pizza and hamburgers alongside more traditional Costa Rican cuisine like Patacones and Chalupas.
The other restaurant is more upscale with fine-dining options and requires a reservation. Since the hotel is all-inclusive, there’s no added cost.
There are also four bars. The one attached to the main restaurant serves drinks from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. Another is a sports bar just a few minutes’ walk from the beach. The other two bars are located at each of the pools, with seating both in and out of the water.
Spa and Wellness Center
Casa Conde has its own spa, alongside a sauna and jacuzzi. Guests can also book in-room massages for an additional fee. While I didn’t get one myself, a few of my friends did, and they enjoyed the treatment.
Friendly and Attentive Staff
One of the best things about Casa Conde is how the staff works to ensure every guest’s trip is perfect, always being professional and friendly. They made it easy to arrange for added tours or to address any questions, and they were always offering drinks and food.
A Glimpse Into the Costa Rican Culture
I love traveling because it gives me the opportunity to learn about cultures outside of the United States. During my trips to Costa Rica, I’ve become enamored with the playa vida way of life there. You can feel the difference, even just interacting with hotel staff.
At Casa Conde, all of the staff are Costa Rican. Alongside their considerate customer service, living among true Ticos was a great way to feel more immersed in the culture during my visit.
Exploring Playa Panama: A Beach Lover's Dream
Playa Panamá is just a few minutes from other popular spots like Playas del Coco and Playa Hermosa, but it has its own charm. Among Costa Rica’s many beaches, Playa Panama stands out for its laid-back atmosphere and warm, calm waters perfect for swimming and other relaxing ocean activities.
The Beauty of Playa Panama
Bordered by the jungle and protected by the jut of the coastline, the sand and sea of Playa Panama are truly beautiful. This beach has calm, inviting waters that are perfect for swimming or just floating as you bask in this little alcove of natural beauty.

Sunbathing, Swimming, and Water Sports
Since the ocean was right in front of the resort, I made a point to go for a swim every day. I also spent a good amount of time at the pool.
Down at the beach, it wasn’t uncommon to see sailboats out in the distance, or to see families diving and snorkeling. Boat tours were mostly further off the coast, but still a popular activity.

Watching the Breathtaking Sunset over the Pacific Ocean
Many evenings, I made a point to head past the hotel gates and toward the beach just as the sun was going down. Watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean was an incredible sight, and the scenic view was perfect for taking photos or just drinking it in.

Adventure Awaits: Excursions and Nearby Attractions
While some all-inclusive resorts are more focused on rest and relaxation, CC Beach Front Papagayo is a good choice for more adventurous vacationers who want to see everything Costa Rica has to offer. We booked tours and other activities directly through the hotel.
Palo Verde National Park: Wildlife and Birdwatching
I didn’t take the Palo Verde National Park tour during my most recent visit, but I have been on it before. It’s ideal for animal lovers, as you get to travel in a boat and look out for wildlife. I spotted monkeys, crocodiles, many types of birds, and even a sloth or two.
Adventure Tours: Tubing, Canyon Ziplining and the Hot Springs and Mud Baths
This combined adventure tour in the mountains by the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano was the main tour I took and it didn’t disappoint. I got to zipline over a canyon, ride on horseback, and go tubing down white water rapids, which was my favorite part.
The all-day tour ended with a soothing soak at the hot springs and mud bath.
Hike to Leona Waterfall
The Leona Waterfall tour started with a drive back to the mountainous area by Rincon de la Vieja, which was about an hour away.
Our guides greeted us at the trailhead and gave us the rundown of what we should expect. They advised us to bring only things that could get wet, and provided us with waterproof bags for our phones and cameras.
Once we were ready, we started our hike toward the waterfall. The surroundings were gorgeous, and while the path required us to cross rivers and even swim a little toward the end, it was well worth it for the magical sight of the massive Leona Waterfall.
To this day it’s one of the most impressive waterfalls I’ve seen in Costa Rica.
Exciting Water Activities at Playa Panama & the Papagayo Gulf
Playa Panama has great conditions for swimming, but it and the Papagayo Gulf area also have opportunities for more intense water activities.
At one point we rented a jet ski from vendors on the beach and spent the day traveling between the deserted beaches along the Gulf of Papagayo. It was like a self-guided tour.

Making New Friends: Meeting Fellow Guests
Casa Conde’s relaxed vibes created a welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to get to know some of the other people staying at the resort. We were all there to kick back and enjoy Costa Rica, and it was fun to trade stories of the different tours and adventures we each went on during our stay.
Everyone we spoke to was friendly and just as excited to share their travel experiences as we were! I made a few connections and had a great time.
Tips and Exclusive Deals for Future Travelers
If my stories of Casa Conde have you already planning your own visit, check out these tips for planning your trip.
How to Get Great Rates Depending on the Time of Year for Casa Conde Beach Front Papagayo Hotel
Like many of Costa Rica’s hotels and attractions, booking a room at Casa Conde is most expensive during the country’s high season, from late December to early April. To get the best rates, consider visiting during the off-season instead.
Personally, I recommend vacationing during one of the shoulder seasons. These are between green season and high season, either from the end of November to mid-December, or for the month or so after Easter.
The Best Time to visit the Guanacaste Area in Costa Rica
Guanacaste has its green season, or rainy season, from May to November. While it’s still possible to have a fun vacation during this time, heavy rain could mean you’re not able to do as much exploration or spend much time on the beach.
Most people prefer to visit during the dry season, from December to April, though the shoulder seasons are just as good if you’re looking for cheaper rates.
Packing Essentials and Preparing for the Trip
When packing for your Costa Rican adventure, consider how you’re going to spend your time.
If you’re the adventurous type, then bringing clothes suitable for hiking and supplies like a sturdy backpack and binoculars are a must. If you’re planning to spend most of your time on the beach, you’ll want a coral-safe sunblock, light clothing, and aloe vera for any sunburns.

A Bittersweet Farewell to Casa Conde and Playa Panama
It’s always sad to say goodbye at the end of the trip, especially when I’ve had such a good time! But as I packed up and got ready to head home after my most recent trip, I had the feeling it wouldn’t be the last time I’d stay at Casa Conde.

The Unforgettable Memories from my Stay
My third visit to Casa Conde was just as enjoyable as my previous times staying there. As the venue for my wedding, it will always hold an important place in my memories.
This time, I got to spend more time on tours and at the beach. The staff were very nice and professional the entire visit. It was very relaxing and I loved my time there.
