Isolated Beach near carate
When you're going on a trip with your sweetie, there's virtually nothing else you need but one another. If you're planning on staying in Costa Rica all inclusive resorts for a special occasion, anniversary or birthday, you may want to consider a trip to the stunning Osa Peninsula. This is one of my favorite places in Costa Rica! It's filled with so much wildlife, you may just feel like it's just you and nature. Carate is a pristine Pacific coastline town with a stunning backdrop of the mountains and an abundance of outdoor recreation available. If you're looking for a vacation spot away from the hustle of big cities like San Jose, Carate may be the perfect place for you. Imagine waking up to the sound of howler monkeys, living off the grid with minimal phone service and being one-on-one with nature. Sounds pretty good to me! OK, so I may be a bit biased, but from what I hear, a lot of people spend their time on the computer and on their cell phones. If you're on a romantic getaway, there's no need for those things anyway!
You may not feel that getting sweaty and muddy seems like the perfect way to spend a romantic vacation, but think about it. Carate is a rife with wildlife, home to several towering waterfalls and rushing mountain streams, and it is a great place to go on a horseback ride or view the canopy at eye level. Couples that play together, stay together!

Carate is about 50 kilometers away from Drake Bay, near Corcovado National Park. Considered to be one of the most isolated and primitive areas in Costa Rica, providing access to areas highly influenced by the ancient civilizations of Costa Rica like Caño Island, which is home to some of the mysterious stone spheres that date back to pre-Columbian times. Whether you or your beau are a history buff, this is a great place to stop during your trip to Carate. You may even get to catch a glimpse of Pacific Ridley sea turtles that come to shore to lay their eggs here it's a truly unique experience!

Like I said before, you may not directly correlate Costa Rica with a romantic trip, but there's no better place to connect with a partner. You can go kayaking across fresh water lagoons, watch dolphins and whales in the open sea or venture through the neighboring Corcovado National Park. One of the best experiences you may have here is horseback riding along the coast. Heading out as the sun is setting going down over the Pacific Ocean is utterly breathtaking. If you prefer, you can go on a ride through the jungle trails to view scarlet macaws, monkeys, coatis and much more. You can even go on a nighttime hike or walk down to the beach. Don't forget to look up to gaze at the bright stars above!
Do you like getting in morning exercise? How about sunrise yoga? There's no better way to start the day than stretching and strengthening along the shores. I've hopped into a few classes at Carate lodges because the practice of yoga intrigues me so much! After you've gotten your exercise, pack a light lunch on go on a hike through the jungle. You'll find yourself at one of the many stunning waterfalls in this area if you're planning to ask your partner a particular question - wink, wink this may be the perfect place!
Whether you're looking for an outdoor adventure or a relaxing getaway for you and your sweetie, Carate is a great place to hang your hat. What kind of vacation do you prefer?
