Arenal Volcano National Park is one of the most beloved areas in the country, and kids will love the towering and storied volcano! Manuel Antonio National Park

Like I said before, most children love animals, so a national park with a diverse variety of wildlife is a great way to win over kids! The trails here are fairly easy for smaller kids to traverse through, so you won't have to worry about them having trouble. You can go on a guided tour where you'll see sleepy sloths hanging above or monkeys swinging through the trees. Need to cool off? No worries, because Manuel Antonio is home to some of the most wonderful beaches in the country! The gentle currents make it a great place to swim and snorkel through vibrant tropical fish.

Canopy Tours

Do you find that your kids are always living on the edge? There's no better way to embrace their inner child and get the thrill of a lifetime than ziplining through the canopy! The Selvatura canopy tour is one of the best in the country, and the park also features tree-top suspension bridges that give you a bird's eye view of the forest below. You'll find eight suspension bridges that connect to various trails. Kids over the age of four can go on the canopy tour, which is made of 15 different cables and 18 platforms throughout the virgin rainforest. Are you ready for the ultimate thrill? Don't miss out on the Tarzan swing here!

Butterfly Farms

Located in La Guacima, the Butterfly Farm is a perfect family-friendly attraction where kids get to learn about the intricacies of life from a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly. You've never seen so many butterflies! Tour the entire farm where you'll see vibrantly colored wings in hues of blue, yellow, orange and red. Kids will absolutely love the laboratory where the eggs are hatched and the larvae emerge, maybe you'll even get to catch them venture off on their maiden flight.
